Block Play

Young children ages 3-4 develop and refine motor skills, and lay the foundations of math, spatial relations, sequencing and dramatic play with this classic building toy. Facilitated play encourages children to experiment, collaborate with other children, and use their intuitive powers. Block Play is held each Monday, September 14-November 23rd. Please note there is no session on Columbus Day, October 12th.

Preschool Play

Join toddlers, parents and caregivers on the Wagner Park lawn for interactive play with imaginative toys. Led by Parks Programming Play Leaders, caregivers are coached on providing children with imaginative play opportunities.  Each day youngsters can play with puppets, toy animals, blocks, wooden vehicles, dress up costumes, and more.  Parks Programming Leaders carefully choose different items on different days to provide a variety of experiences.  A story is read aloud to the group at the end of the program.  All participants help with clean up time after that.

Preschool Play will not meet on 5/25, 9/7, and 10/12.

Preschool Art

Very young artists are introduced to paper, clay, wood, and paint. Each Thursday an artist/educator will present a new art project perfectly planned for toddler and preschooler skills.  All materials are provided. Dress for a mess! While the kids get creative, parents and caretakers can enjoy the beautiful views of the Hudson River and the splendor of Rockefeller Park’s lawns and plant life.

This program meets by the Park House at Rockefeller Park; enter the park near Murray Street.
