JULY 10: Christian Scott Quintet. Grammy-nominated trumpet sensation Christian Scott plays original compositions with one foot deep in his New Orleans roots, and the other leaping forward with the Rock and Hip Hop influence of his NYC home.
July 17: The Wiyos. Critically-acclaimed band, The Wiyos, combine their “old-timey” rambling blues, folk and swing with a touch of psychedelic surf music to create a truly unique style that’s pure Americana.
July 24: Heritage Blues Quintet. Heritage Blues Quintet’s music is an inspiring testament to the enduring power, possibilities and boundless beauty of African-American music.
July 31: Bettye LaVette. Bettye LaVette, described by The New York Times as “rivaling Aretha Franklin as her generation’s most vital soul singer,” will perform at River & Blues.
August 7: Sun Ra Arkestra. This 12-strong legendary jazz orchestra takes you on an intergalactic journey spanning the past, the present and the future.
