EITC hires Chamber of Commerce CEO

Holt
Michelle Holt will have a new role in the community after several years as CEO of the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce. Holt will replace Ken Erickson in February as Eastern Idaho Technical College’s Workforce Development and Community Education Manager. Erickson is retiring after nearly four decades at EITC. “One common thread throughout much of my career has been workforce development,” Holt said in a news release. “The opportunity to apply my experience and network in a new way that continues to support the needs of our local and regional business community is very exciting. Talent pipeline and the need for a skilled workforce is an issue that impacts all of our Chamber member businesses, as well as the entire business community.” Holt has been the chamber’s CEO since 2013. Before that, she was executive director of Lost Rivers Economic Development, which represents Butte and south Custer counties.
Holt could play a valuable role if EITC becomes a community college, president Rick Aman said in the release. “The prospect of a transition of EITC from a technical college into a comprehensive community college provides a unique opportunity in partnership with regional employers. (Holt) brings a wealth of experience and service to our business community,” Aman said in the release. The Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce is accepting CEO applications until Jan. 16. information can be found at idahofallschamber.com.
