Idaho National Laboratory

The Idaho National Lab, a vital part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s system of national laboratories, is located within our region. Its headquarters are located in Idaho Falls. The lab performs work in all of the strategic goal areas of the DOE: energy, national security, science and environment. The lab is the nation’s leading center for nuclear energy research and development. Day-to-day management and operation of the lab is the responsibility of Battelle Energy Alliance. The INL nuclear facilities are located on the desert about 45 miles west of Idaho Falls.
